The U.S. Open of Mountain Biking was established in 2003 with the goal of creating excitement in the American mountain bike scene. Featuring a unique and ‘open’, Pro/AM format, the U.S. Open offers the most challenging and competitive racing in the nation and sets the standard as a proving-ground for up-and-coming and elite racers alike. Anyone can enter the Open Class and compete amongst the pros for the cash purse and a chance to prove where they rank. Amateurs compete for bragging rights and some of the best prizes in racing.

The legend is born

Diablo Freeride Park announces first USO with a $1,000 1st place prize! Bryn Atkinson (AUS) 3:06 and Donna Fletcher (USA) 3:55 are the inaugural victors.

The stakes have been raised!

Sam Hill (AUS) 2:53 and Kathy Pruitt (USA) 3:22 take home the $5000 Prize.

Getting Here.

Flying in to the area is extremely easy, with two major international airports located under an hour (Newark & Stewart) and two major international airports located just over an hour from the resort (LaGuardia & JFK).

FYI – Both LaGuardia and JFK require driving thru NYC.

Arriving via ground transportation is also an easy task as we are conveniently located on NJ State Highway 94. Those arriving from the west should take Exit 34 off Interstate Route 80, following Route 15 to Route 94 North. Those arriving from the East should take Interstate Route 80 to Route 287 North, exiting to Route 23 North, followed by exiting a County Route 515 in Stockholm. Route 515 will take you into the heart of Vernon Township, make a left turn on to Route 94 South and arrive at Mountain Creek Resort just a couple of miles down the road.
